Technology & Information Centre

"The JDA's Technology & Information Centre is a mine of information, where people with a hearing loss can come along, find out about the latest equipment, try it out for themselves and get the very best advice in a warm, relaxed atmosphere."

The Technology & Information Centre displays specialised equipment to help deaf and hard of hearing people to ease some of the frustrations of daily living and lead more independent lives, at home and at work. Equipment demonstrated ranges from sophisticated paging alert systems to simple items like loud doorbells. People visiting can try equipment for themselves, to see which works most efficiently for their needs. Friendly, trained co-ordinators provide free professional advice, practical help and guidance on a wide range of matters, and will liaise on the client's behalf with social services if appropriate.
