Lipreading Course

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR:

The course is aimed at people who have an acquired hearing loss, or who are losing their hearing, who wish to acquire lipreading skills to aid their communication.

It is suitable for both beginners and people who have previously studied lipreading.

A good command of the English language is essential.

Hearing people are most welcome to attend the class, if accompanying someone with a hearing loss.

CLASSES:

The maximum is 14 students per class.

Classes are taught by a highly qualified lipreading tutor, in a comfortable room with a loop system.

Failure to comply with the conditions of the course will prevent you from continuing with your studies.

COURSE FEES:

The course costs £95. Fees can be paid in two instalments before Terms 1 and 2.

As a charity, we have to cover our costs, so regretfully we are unable to offer any concessions. However, we really want this course to be accessible to all, so please do talk to us confidentially if this amount is difficult for you.

The nearest tube station is Woodside Park (Northern Line).
Exit station and walk for approximately 5 minutes to the other end of Woodside Park Road.

The JDA building is on the left just after the Glenlyn Hotel, before Lloyds Bank and the High Road.

263 Archway Station to Barnet General Hospital
Get off the bus at Sainsbury’s North Finchley.

Opposite Sainsbury’s is Lloyds Bank, on the corner of Woodside Park Road.
The JDA is the first building in the road, on the same side as Lloyds Bank.

From the bus station, walk up the High Road, passing Argos on your right and the Tally Ho public house on your left. Continue along the High Road for a few minutes until you reach Lloyds Bank on the left.
Turn left into Woodside Park Road and the JDA is the first building in the road, on the same side as Lloyds Bank.
