a) Subscription to the JDA quarterly magazine
b) Subsidised fees for JDA events and activities

2. LIPSINC:
a) Up to date news on social events, information
meetings and fundraising events for
LIPSINC members and their guests
b) The opportunity to be a part of a unique social
scene bringing together people with
and without a hearing loss
c) The opportunity to belong to a forum for discussing
and exchanging information
and ideas relevant to people with a hearing loss
d) The right to contribute ideas and shape the
development of Project Teams

a Project Team
f) The right to vote at LIPSINC meetings

1. Who can apply for membership
of LIPSINC
a) A person who is Jewish and deaf* and who is
aged 20 - 40 years
b) A person who is not Jewish by birth and/or
not deaf*, but who is the husband, wife or partner
of a paid-up LIPSINC member.
* The word "deaf" is taken to mean
deaf, hard of hearing, deafened, partially deaf,
profoundly deaf or any other type of hearing loss
not previously mentioned.

2. How to apply for membership
Personal Application for Membership form and
fee should be sent to the LIPSINC Coordinator
at the Jewish Deaf Association. The LIPSINC Coordinator
approves applications for membership.
If your application is not accepted, the membership
fee will be refunded to you.

3. Payment of membership
fees
a) The first year of LIPSINC Membership will
run from 1 April 2005 to 31 December 2005. Membership
fees are to be paid in full no later than the
end of April.
b) From 2006 onwards, each membership year will
run from 1 January to 31 December.
Renewed membership fees are to be paid in full
no later than then end of January.
c) New members may join at any time of the year,
on the agreement of the LIPSINC Coordinator. The
fee remains the same.
d) Members who are unable to continue paying
subscriptions, due to long-term illness or
unemployment, should write to the LIPSINC Coordinator
who will consider waiving or
reducing membership fees.

4. Attendance by non-members
Non-members are very welcome to participate in
LIPSINC activities, if accompanied by a paid-up
LIPSINC member. Non-members will be charged a
fee.

5. Publicity photographs
At times, photographs of LIPSINC in action may
be used for publicity purposes. If you object
to appearing in these, please DO NOT tick the
box on the membership application form.

6. Suspension/Termination
of Membership
a) If it is considered to be in the best interests
of LIPSINC that an individual should cease to
be a member, the Executive Director of the JDA
has the power to suspend or terminate membership.
b) A suspended member may rejoin LIPSINC after
they have completed their suspension period.
