LIPSINC - WHAT'S HAPPENING

Why dont you visit the brand new LIPSINC website
to find out the latest news!

LIPSINC is a unique group for Jewish deaf and hard of hearing people in their 20s and 30s who use speech to communicate.

There are 3 project teams - the Events Team, The Challenge Team and the Information Team - now meeting every month to plan programmes for LIPSINC members and their friends. Each team has a different purpose, but the overall aim is to provide lively, fun and active events and useful information for oral deaf and hard of hearing people and to attract even more members.

The Challenge Team has set itself a testing task - four members are holding a two-day, 25 mile sponsored walk, ending on August Bank Holiday this year. There will be a lot of blister plasters!! But it's worth it, because the team are walking to raise funds to buy books and videos for the JDA library, to benefit parents of deaf children.

For those with slightly less energy, the Events Team has been busy organising several events, including subtitled theatre and cinema visits and a summer picnic. There's also a Friday night supper ahead.

Meanwhile, the Information Team are knee-deep in research and planning a talk by a guest speaker.
